The Best Western Pony Soldier Inn & Suites offers a generally clean and budget-friendly option with friendly staff and a decent breakfast, particularly appreciated by travelers seeking a place to sleep after activities. However, guests frequently note issues with noise from trains, outdated facilities, inconsistent housekeeping, and limited on-site amenities.

We stayed here for a ski trip with my son. The hotel is about 40 minutes drive from the ski slopes, so it’s not ski-in/ski-out, but the distance was manageable with a car. The hotel itself is clean and well-maintained. The reception staff were genuinely friendly, polite and helpful — which made check-in very pleasant. The breakfast buffet was surprisingly good: decent variety, fresh items and good quality overall. That was definitely a positive point for us.The hot tub was an absolute highlight! After a full day of skiing, with sore muscles and total fatigue from hitting the slopes, soaking in the warm, bubbling water was incredibly relaxing and rejuvenating. It melted away all the tiredness, eased the aches in our legs and back, and left us feeling refreshed and ready for the next day. However, there are a few things worth mentioning: There is no restaurant or dinner service in the hotel, so you need to go out for dinner. The hotel is quite close to the train station, and you can hear train horns quite frequently — especially noticeable at night. It disturbed our sleep on several occasions. Daily housekeeping is not automatic; you need to specifically request it if you want the room cleaned during your stay. When we had a minor technical issue in the room, there was no on-site technician available to fix it quickly, which was a bit frustrating. Overall, it’s a clean and budget-friendly option with friendly staff and a solid breakfast, but the noise from trains, lack of in-house dining, and no regular room cleaning make it less convenient than we hoped for a skiing holiday. Would suit someone who doesn’t mind these points and is mainly looking for a place to sleep after skiing.

There aren't many pet friendly places in town and on Valentine's day rates were outrageous... so I really had no other options unless to stay here for $200. It wasn't worth it. This hotel needs a remodeling bad. When you enter the room its so dusty and overwhelming. So awful. The eggs at breakfast were swimming in water... eww we know its powdered eggs but at least get the ratio right!

The pool and hot tub were so nice! Clean and the hot tub was hot. The handicap lift for both worked. So my mom was able to get it the hottub. There people that worked there were more then happy to help us. A BIG thank you to the workers that made our day!!

I really wanted to like this hotel because the woman at the front desk was very kind and helpful. Unfortunately, the property itself is very dated and did not feel clean. The first room I was given had dirty sheets and a visible urine stain on the mattress, which was extremely unpleasant. I was moved to a second room, which was better, but still did not feel very clean overall. The refrigerator wasn’t cold, and the carpets in both the hallways and the room looked worn and outdated, almost like an old casino. There was also unknown brown splatter on the ceiling, a stale smell in the room, and very worn sheets with holes. For the price, I expected much better. I’ve stayed at the Aiden by Best Western down the street for the same cost, and it was significantly cleaner and more comfortable. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Most standard queen rooms are a bit smaller. But my husband, dog and I love coming here! This location and the one in Williams is the ones we love most. Super friendly, easy check in. Clean.

Stayed in the suite style room. It smelled awful in the room, like something was burned inside (possibly the broken hair dryer that sounded like a garbage disposal). Pull out bed was very uncomfortable. No fan in the "bedroom" bathroom. The LED light fixture around the vanity in the "common" bathroom flashed intermittently. Location near the highway was key, but it was a rough night of sleep to start a cross-country road trip. I would not recommend using the pull out bed. Sleep on top of the sofa or book a second room!

Well used rooms. Showing their age. Clean and tidy, but not great. If your looking for a romantic room, this it's not! Clean but like I said, showing it's age. Could have gotten cheaper and newer room for this same price. Not happy about the cost of the stay. 30 minutes down the road, get same room from same BW for $40 less and same quality.

Rooms were good, clean. I stay at Best Westerns very often, the Kingman ones for example are updated and super nice. Again the rooms were clean which is super important. I called the hotel a lot of times as I was trying to let them know the time of arrival ans I could never reach the front desk. I called the number here on Google maps and selected option 2 for front desk, then I got a message saying that was a bad selection. At some point I ended up selecting option 1 which was for reservations and I told the customer service person all about not being able to reach the front desk as she mentioned she has noticed that was a problem. That shw had tried herself and has also not been able to reach the hotel. I shared this with the front desk person when I arrived around 10:30pm yesterday and she said it must be my phone because they were fine with an attitude. She wasn't very friendly or helpful in that sense. Other then that everything was great. Also, I liked the fact that the rooms(at least the one we got) was indoors rather the room door being on the outside. Would definitely stay here again

My husband and I have stayed at a best Western quite a few times in our travels. This was one of the nicest that we stayed in. The help was wonderful. The rooms were fine and the pillows were the greatest pillows I’ve ever slept on. Mattresses were very good too. I would recommend it. It’s also in a safe area.

We’ve stayed here 3 times and now consider it our go-to lodging in Flagstaff. Our daughter loves the indoor heated pool during the winter and the breakfast is always good. Everyone is friendly and it’s in a great location. The rooms are a bit older but it’s clean.
